With your help in the preparation process, Village Stitchery

Quilt Top

___  Squared up so that both sides are equal and top and bottom are equal

___  Top marked with a safety pin

___  Pressed
___  Threads on back clipped so they don't show through
___  Check for wavy borders which could result in puckering or pleating during quilting process
___  If the rest of the quilt does not lay flat, you may want to check to make sure all seams have been caught in the seam allowance
___  If there is no border, you may want to consider stay stitching around the perimeter of the quilt top to prevent seams from coming apart
___  Please place on hanger to prevent wrinkling as this is how your quilt will be stored while waiting in the que

___  Pieced and cut to required size of: length of quilt top + 10" and width of quilt top + 10" or just cut to required size if one continuous piece such as a wide back

___  Selvages trimmed off as they prevent the fabric from laying flat

___  Any seams pressed OPEN

___ Due to the tight weave of sheets, they do not make for a good backing because the needles tend to break the fabric threads rather than penetrating between them

___  Top marked with safety pin

___  Pressed

___  Placed on hanger

___  Quilter's Dream cotton, polyester, cotton poly blend and wool can be purchased from Village Stitchery

___  If you choose to provide your own batting, please get it approved ahead of time as not all brands are of acceptable quality

___  Batting cut to required size of:  length of quilt top plus 10" and width of quilt top plus 10"
